LSD

LSD, or lysergic acid diethylamide, is a synthetic chemical made from a substance found in ergot, a fungus that infects rye. It is a potent hallucinogen that can alter a person’s perception of reality and vividly distort the senses. LSD belongs to a group of drugs known as psychedelics, and when small doses are taken, it can produce mild changes in perception, mood, and thought. Larger doses may produce visual hallucinations and distortions of space and time.

LSD is sold in various forms, including tablets, capsules, and occasionally in liquid form. It is usually added to absorbent paper, such as “blotter” paper, which is divided into small decorated squares, with each square representing one dose called a “hit”. The squares may be colored or have images printed on them. LSD is a clear or white odorless substance with a slightly bitter taste.
